-I believe there are common sense solutions if we actually talk about the issues to do what is best for our communities. -We need to stop arguing and begin to get something done to improve the problems we all face together. -I pledge to listen to any concern from a member of the public and consider all sides of an issue before making a decision. -If elected, I will work for you the people, not the interests of lobbyists and other politicians.
Why do I wear so many hats? Ultimately the need to give back is what has caused me to rise to run for public office. I have lived and worked in Del Norte for 4 years but have always been active in my community everywhere I go. My husband says if I wear any more hats I need to build a new closet. If elected, I will add one more hat as your Assembly Representative! Hats I wear: *Del Norte High School-Special Education Teacher and Department Chair *Scouts BSA- Committee Chair and Assistant Scoutmaster *Del Norte Teachers-Executive Board, Treasurer and an organizing team member. I’ve served 4 years writing policy in the state Early Childhood Education Committee for CTA and received a CTA WHO award for my service. I’ve served on NEA Resolutions crafting language for national beliefs and defended ‘common sense’ gun control which is supported by the NRA. *California Teachers Association-Member of State Council serving on State Legislation Committee as Secretary *Republican Central Committee-Secretary and bylaw chair *I am a regular contributor to Habitat for Humanity, Relay for Life, St. Jude’s, Special Olympics, and others. *Politically: Candidate against Rodney Wright for State Senate when I lived in Torrance. He was facing 8 felony counts of voter fraud, which have since led to conviction. I was on Central Committee there and stood up for people then as I do now. My home has changed, my values have not!
